MOB Color Guard MOB Color Guard

A group of former members from local Chicago area corps such as the Vanguard, Norwood Park Imperials, and Royal Airs met recently to form a new alumni corps.

At the first meeting there were approximately 25 horns, 9 drummers, and a few color guard in attendance. Many people came from Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan, and all parts of Illinois.  Many felt that "high" that only comes from doing what you love...playing music and having fun.  It was like old home week.

The corps is called the Men of Brass (women are also welcomed) and plan on playing "Trumanesk" type, "barbershop swing", fun, in your face, music.

The group considered: Would they be a "Park and Blow", a "Parade Corps", or would they want to go "All Out" and FIELD a Drum & Bugle Corps?

The answer was unanimous...and the
goal of Men of Brass is to have a complete drum and bugle corps.  This may not happen in the first  year, but hopefully in the near future.

So if you want to be on the ground floor, and help SHAPE this organization, or just come out and have some fun, join us.

From there, we've come a long way in a short time.

In April, 2007 we had our first performance. With about 25 horns, 8 drummers, and 10 colorguard we performed In South Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Spectacle City Spring Music Festival. We were a hit!

Please feel free to contact us at any time if you are interested in becoming a member. We are always looking for new people who share our joy in playing music and having the camaraderie that only drum corps can give.
